The NCI was established under the National Cancer Act of 1937 and is the Federal Government's principal agency for cancer research and training. The cancer resource center offers a number of resources to assist patients on their journey through diagnosis, educational materials, treatment decision-making, treatments, recovery and survivorship.  Other resources and programs available for housing during treatment and financial assistance.  The Resource Center has a full lending library, free literature, wigs and prosthetic information.  All services are free of charge.
